Basic Data Protection Ordinance (DSGVO)

What is the General Data Protection Regulation (or "DSGVO")?
The General Data Protection Regulation ("General Data Protection Regulation" or "GDPR") is an EU directive on the protection of privacy and personal data for residents of the European Economic Area. The law will enter into force on 25 May 2018, providing EU citizens and residents with more control over their personal data and creating a legal framework - or more simply, a single set of rules - for data protection for all companies operating within the EU ,
That's good news for all EU citizens! The 99 articles of the General Data Protection Regulation oblige companies to seek the consent of the individuals from whom they collect data. In addition, these people should now be able to easily access the data that companies collect about them.
Q: How does this affect how Cos-Mic-Tec uses the data I am providing?
Cos-Mic-Tec takes the protection of dealer data since its founding extremely seriously. The General Data Protection Regulation thus has no effect on the degree of care with which we handle your data. However, the regulation creates even more transparency between you as a dealer and our company and requires that we obtain your explicit consent to the transmission and processing of your data.
Cos-Mic-Tec warrants to comply with the Cos-Mic-Tec Privacy Policy and the General Data Protection Regulation when collecting, storing and processing your data. This means that we only use your data to the extent necessary to provide our service and for statistical purposes.
If Cos-Mic-Tec shares your information with trusted third parties outside the European Economic Area (acting on our behalf to provide you with our services), Cos-Mic-Tec will ensure that these third parties meet and comply with the highest standards of data protection to comply with all applicable data protection laws. All Cos-Mic-Tec dealer data is stored within the EU.
In addition to complying with the General Data Protection Regulation, Cos-Mic-Tec is also certified according to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). This means that Cos-Mic-Tec treats the data of the cardholder with special care and ensures that our hardware and software offer optimal protection. This certificate confirms that our company meets the highest available security standards, so traders can feel secure when working with Cos-Mic-Tec.
In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation, Cos-Mic-Tec allows merchants to request a complete list of the personal information that Cos-Mic-Tec holds about them. A request can be made by e-mail to info@cos-mic-tec.ch.
What if I want Cos-Mic-Tec to delete some or all of my personal information?
You may request the deletion of some or most of your personal information by sending an e-mail to info@cos-mic-tec.ch. We say "most" because Cos-Mic-Tec is required by law to keep all recorded transaction data for a minimum period of five (5) years after the end of the partnership between Cos-Mic-Tec and the merchant.
If you wish to revoke your consent to the processing or disclosure of your personal data, please note that we can no longer offer you our services.
You may also revoke your consent to receive additional (albeit more informative) marketing content at any time. This does not affect the services we offer you.
